CMS not detecting new machines on the network

Check normal Windows browsing through network neighborhood or similar. Usually if CMS isn't seeing a machine, it isn't viewable on the network itself, which is a general network browse issue.

If the machines are shown on the network, but CMS isn't seeing them, this indicates a database corruption. The easiest way to fix it is to delete the database and have it start fresh. To do this:

1) Go into Windows services and stop the Vexira Antivirus Component Manager.

2) Go into a dos window and run 'vbsystry /exit'

3) Go into My Computer and go into C:\Program Files\Vexira Antivirus\Bin. There will be a .mdb file who's name starts with CMS. It will be the only .mdb file, delete this.

4) Go into Add/Remove Programs and do a 'Repair' on Vexira CMS. This will recreate the database and start the services back up.

The only downfall to this is that it deletes all the machines in CMS and redetects them on the network as new machines, so you have to put them back into their groups. This doesn't cause them to have to be reinstalled though, nor will it lose the settings you have in your groups; it will just pick up where it left off on those machines once you move them back over.
