The program will give this message if the virus database has got damaged. A scheduled task will periodicly check the status of the VDB and if it finds that the damaged one has got replaced with a good one it will start the Guard back up. If it still finds the damaged one it will send the error message again.
First have Vexira try to do an update. This will usually make it redownload the database and replace the damaged one.
If this doesn't do it, go into Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel, highlight the entry for Vexira and go to 'Change/Remove' and choose the 'Repair' option.
Finally, if it's still being difficult, download the new version of the program from our downloads page here:
http://www.centralcommand.com/Downloads.aspx
Run that and it will upgrade overtop Vexira, then reboot.Article ID: 49, Created On: 10/7/2009, Modified: 6/30/2011
