Installing via a preconfigured script 32 and 64bit

These scripts will check to see if a previously installed version of Vexira Antivirus exists, if it does not it will install with pre-configured settings.

The install scripts used for deployment can be downloaded from:

32bit
http://support.vexira.com/files/downloads/Vexira_Auto_Install_Update_Scripts.zip

64bit
http://support.vexira.com/files/downloads/Vexira_Auto_Install_Update_Scripts_64bit.zip

Step 1:
Extract vexira_auto_install.zip to the windows machine you were wanting to use to hold the updates. It will create a 'vexira' folder, share this over the network. It only needs to be readable.

Step 2:

Run the vexupdwin.bat file. This will go to our update site and download all the packages and updates, so they're available. This may take a while the first time it's run.

Step 3:

Edit vexprof.bat and set SCRIPTSHAREPATH to be the path to the shared Vexira folder. For example \\machinename\vexira.

Step 4:

Note: If you don't need to set up a pre-defined configuration, you can skip this step. For instance, if you are using the default 'Typical' install, go to step 5.

Install Vexira manually on one workstation and configure it how you'd like. You can just run \\machinename\Vexira\vexira\windows\x86\prof\winprof.exe.exe to start the installation, instead of re-downloading the package.

If nothing else, you'll probably want to set the client to update from your server, instead of from our update site. To do this, go into the main Vexira window and go to 'Update' on the left. Under update sources, check 'Path' and set the source to the \\machinename\Vexira share. You can uncheck the HTTP and FTP sources. Then modify both of the update tasks shown below and make sure the source is changed to Path.

Copy cfgutil.exe (from the vexira_auto_install package) into the 'C:\Program Files\Vexira Antivirus\Professional' directory and run 'cfgutil.exe /s'. This will generate a template.cfg file.

Copy template.cfg file to \\machinename\sharename, where the vexprof.bat/Install.bat files reside.

Step 5:

Go to a machine that doesn't have Vexira installed, log on as an administrative user, and run Install.bat. If it installs properly, and is configured how you set up the original machine, then you can just set that script to be a login script and you're good.
