The new 12.x Database contains .sys files and .dll files. This is much different then older versions of Vexira. We have added these files for an advanced feature that allows Vexira to update the scan engine without updating the entire product. This in return allows better protection against new threats faster then before.
Because of the new file structure, many firewalls and content filters will block the download. If you have a Sonic Wall, then you will needs to add an exception in the "gateway anti-virus" under security settings. Go to a command prompt and issue the command nslookup upd.vexira.com This will give you all the IP addresses for our update servers. Add these IPs in the exception.
For any other firewall and or content filter you will need to add an exception for upd.vexira.com
This is related to any failed database download from the web, or if you get error from ftp "An error occured during downloading from the Internet. Error code: 12002" then a firewall/content filter is the culprit.
