Remove outdated Vexira Antivirus versions 5.2 and 5.3 using Vexira CMS

We have released an automatic removal utility for Vexira Antivirus 5.2 and 5.3 client installations. This utility should be started on the client machines within your network and it will uninstall versions of Vexira Antrivirus 5.2 and 5.3 silently (You can start it manually also).

You will need to have Vexira Central Management Solution (Vexira CMS) version 6.3 or above installed. Please log into this server and work on this server. You will need to copy files on the server and edit the registry on the Vexira CMS server.

Step 1. Download Vexira_Uninstall5253.zip

Within this archive is 2 files Vexira_Uninstall.exe and preuninst.reg. Please extract them from the archive.

Step 2. Copy the file Vexira_Uninstall.exe into the C:\Program Files\Vexira Antivirus\CMS\Shared\Bin\x86\ folder on your Vexira CMS server.

Step 3. You will need to edit the preuninstal.reg file using a text (ascii) editor such as notepad to add the name of the Vexira CMS server contained within your network and save the file. It will not work unless you edit the files and add your server name to this file. After editing this file ensure you have saved it. The purpose of the preuninstal.reg file is to add a key to the registry entry for the Vexira CMS to automatically remove the older editions of Vexira Antivirus contained within your network.

Step 4. After you have completed Step 3 above you will need to add the registry entry to the server. Double click on the file preuninstal.reg that you saved to execute it and add the entry to your Vexira CMS. Once complete the Vexira CMS will start the Vexira_Uninstall.exe as a pre-uninstall process on the Vexira managed clients (before every product installation) and remove Vexira Antivirus versions 5.2 and 5.3.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Between the removal of the old Vexira Antivirus versions 5.2 and 5.3 and installation of the new Vexira Antivirus 6.2 the client machine has to be restarted! The Vexira CMS will handle this process and start the new product installation automatically if the machine restarted successfully.
